Tani USA Underwear Review
Tani USA Shadow Contour Trunk Review
It’s pretty difficult for me to get excited about Men’s underwear. I’m sure you’re not surprised. That said, I like good products and this is one of them. It’s a pair of Shadow Contour Trunks from Tani USA…
For any blokes who train, you’ll understand the underwear predicament. Any movement, be it squats, lunges, running, cycling can result in a ‘riding up’ issue, meaning you spend a significant chunk of time trying to rearrange your boxers.
You can sometimes get around this by wearing lined shorts, but they bring with them their own comfort issues, so you haven’t removed the problem, you’ve just changed it for a new set.
Tani USA have found a solution. They have manufactured the ‘Shadow Contour Trunk’, which in their own words…
It’s a mere whisper against your skin. Shadow’s fabric, designed and patented in Italy, is extremely light and super-soft to the touch. It’s compact and unique knit allows for unfinished edges, meaning there is no need for stitching at the hem or leg, resulting in a slim and sleek profile. The highly breathable and naturally wicking underwear will move as you do—as seamlessly and as comfortably as your own shadow.
I’m always 100% honest with my reviews and this is no different, so I have to share this bit of info… When I opened the box and showed Rachel, she laughed at how snug they looked! Still, for me these are more about performance than aesthetics. They look fine, if a little like hot pants!
I’ll spare you the image of me in the boxers, but here’s an official one for you…
The material is really, really soft (quite unlike my usual Calvin Kleins) and the design seems to have fewer seams (I don’t know anything about underwear manufacture, I’m just making an observation).
When they are on, they are SUPER comfortable – you have a freedom of movement that you just don’t get with cotton boxers. I was really surprised at this, because they are quite fitted. The material has enough stretch to allow you to move without issue, but enough elasticity that they retain their shape.
There is no ‘digging in’ from the waistband, which helps with the comfort. Despite me wearing these during a workout that included all kinds of explosive movements, I didn’t once think the Tani USA boxers were uncomfortable. If they felt fine throughout that, I’m honestly not sure what you’d have to do to make them feel uncomfortable.
The shadows contour trunks are made from a breathable, wicking fabric which is a huge benefit when it comes to training clothes. Nobody likes sweaty underwear! It works as well – I wore these through a really tough training session and they were fine afterwards.
In conclusion, look beyond the ‘small’ appearance of the Tani USA Shadow Contour Trunks. Once they are on they fit really well, they are super comfortable and are ideal for training in. They are the most comfortable underwear I’ve ever worn and certainly the best for training in.
