Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 Review

I turn down most of the products I’m ask to look review. When I was asked to do a Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 review though, I couldn’t say no.

I’ve been interested in the potential of infrared technology for improving our health and fitness for a long time. I have infrared clothing, I’ve used infrared saunas. I’ve followed with interest the increase in chat and publicity about infrared light devices at home. Whether it’s Andrew Huberman talking about them, or friends of mine using them for hair growth and skin rejuvenation, they seem to be exploding.

Using the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 was a perfect opportunity to put the device on trial. A opportunity to see if the hype is justified.

I’m a 42 year old man who has put his body through several thousand workouts over the course of my life. I have therefore, accumulated several minor injuries and niggles. One of the persistent current ones is a bicep tendon issue that has been bothering me for months. It’s impacting my training and takes a long time to warm up ahead of exercise.

This would be the perfect opportunity to test out the (potential) healing help the device could offer.

Initial Bullshit Detector

I believe you’ve got to view any technology that makes so many health improvement claims with scepticism. This is especially true when they’re not easy to quantify (who knows how their mitochondrial function is improved/worsened?!). Therefore the only real way to assess is ‘do I feel better than I did when I started using it?’

Assuming everything else in your life remains broadly the same (training schedule, diet, sleeping and working pattens, stress levels etc), then the only variable you’ve added is the testing device.

So that’s what I did.

To get a real outcome measure I decided to test its effect on my elbow and my lower back. Whilst I’m not suffering with any specific lower back issue, when I wake up in the morning it takes a few minutes before it doesn’t feel stiff and vulnerable. If a few treatments with the infrared device make a difference, there’s potential there.

I was well aware of the research and the growing social media support for the technology, so it was now a chance to use it.

Reviewing the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200

The first thing to notice is the size, weight and build quality of the device. It’s a well made item and safely packaged to prevent damage in transit. Here’s the size guideline…

  • Dimensions: Length 35.8” (91 cm) x Width 8.3” (21 cm) x Height 2.6” (6.6 cm)
  • Weight: 14.33 lb (6.50 kg)

It’s certainly not ‘small’, so bear that in mind when it comes to your decision making. It’s not difficult to store, but you’ll have to think about how you’ll use it as much as where you’ll use it. There’s a series of hanging devices so you can hang it on doors etc, but I decided against using them (more on that later).

The device offers a couple of different infrared settings in NIR (near infrared) and Red. In operation it’s quiet, but the light is BRIGHT when it’s on! Seriously – have you ever seen a movie where they’re in a submarine?! It reminded me of that!

The set up and use is incredibly simple. Don’t worry about the complexities of the technology – it’s actually really quite easy to use.

Does the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 Work?

So here’s the question you really want answering – does the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 actually make a difference to you?

The answer is yes. And here’s how I know…

I’ve focussed primarily on two issues I have – the sore elbow, and the grumbly lower back I have on waking. Having used the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 on both issues 2-3 times per week for a fortnight, I’ve really noticed an improvement.

How can I be sure it’s the device helping me?

I’ve changed nothing else about my life. I’m training the same, sleeping in the same bed, for the same hours. My diet is largely the same. I’m not undergoing any specialist treatment for the injuries. The only thing I’ve added is the use of infrared light.

I’d be lying if I said my elbow issue (that I’ve been carrying for 6 months) has completely gone away, but it’s making a large improvement. I’m now able to do chin ups for the first time in months. I can also use a variety of grips for pulling exercises – something I was unable to do before the infrared light therapy.

It also occurred to me this morning that I can’t remember the last time I woke up with a stiff lower back. I remember having some trouble with it when I went to Rome (three weeks before writing this), but since I’ve used the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200, I haven’t woken up with a stiff back at all.

In order to get a quick review out for you guys, I essentially set two markers for judgement. These were to help my back and my elbow, and it has done both.

How Am I Using Red Light Therapy?

Here’s the beauty of it – I’m not being strict with a routine. I’m just jumping on it when I have time to spare. I’ve used it around 3 times per week for 40 minutes at a time – approximately 20 on my back, and 20 on my elbow.

I tend to stick with the near infrared light because I’ve used it to treat the deeper tissues. If your use case was more superficial then you may opt for just the red light. If my wrinkles begin to make me look like Gordon Ramsay, I may use if for that myself…

Thanks to the different areas of the body I’m treating, I’ve opted not to use the hanging fittings that come with the machine. I’ve found that by leaning it up against the wall or placing it on the floor I can more comfortably treat specific areas of my body. I’ve used it on the floor to speed up healing of a calf strain for example, and that would be much more difficult if I’d hung it on a wall!

I imagine that if I used it with more structure (which I intend to) I’d see even more benefits.

How I Intend to Use it in Future

I realise I’m at the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the potential benefits of infrared. With a more dedicated practice I might see even further benefits.

I’m intending to investigate its effects on sleep, exercise recovery and even possibly my eyesight once I get into an established routine with it. You can expect a follow up article in a few months when I’ve had the chance to make it a more long term practice.

Should You Buy the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200?

With my experience of the technology I can certainly vouch for the benefits. Injuries and niggles that I’ve had for several months are clearing up. The treatment is quick, easy and relaxing. There’s no effort involved – I sit and read a book whilst benefiting my health!

Here’s the device I use and I can certainly vouch for…

Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200

In the fitness and wellness industry we see many of these devices hit the market. Most of the time they make far more claims than they’re able to back up. Thankfully though, the Bestqool Full-Body Red Light Therapy Pro200 doesn’t fit into that group. It’s a great device and one that I’d highly recommend if you’re after a red light device.
