Fuerteventura Fitness Retreat

Every year I host a Fuerteventura fitness retreat. The next one is April 20th – 27th, 2024. The venue is a private, purpose-built luxury villa in Lajares, Fuerteventura.

The Fuerteventura fitness retreat is a week where you can forget about the stresses and strains of life. You’ll give yourself a full physical and mental recharge. You’ll be eating well, exercising, enjoying some sunshine and downtime.

It’s an amazing week from start to finish. You’ll feel brand new by the end of it.

Fuerteventura fitness retreat

I pick you up from the airport when you land. You’ll have no need to worry about transfers. I take you direct to the villa, so you don’t need to find your own way.

When we arrive back, you’ll be greeted with home made welcome snacks prepared by our private chef.

You’ll be fed a daily breakfast and 4 evening meals. On the other two nights we head into the local town for a meal. The food is fresh, seasonal and prepared for you.

There’s a full program of activities, including gym workouts, mountain biking, volcano hiking, dune sprints, yoga and Pilates. All of the activities in the Fuerteventura fitness retreat are guided by a qualified coach.

The villa is completely private. Each room is can be either double or twin. You can share it or take it alone. They’re all complete with en suite bathrooms. Take a look at the pictures – there’s no joining neighbours and light pollution, so you’ll sleep really deeply.

There’s a 25m pool on site, so when you fancy a dip, just stroll on over and jump in…

The retreat activities…

The purpose of the fitness retreat is to relax and unwind you. Give you an opportunity to do a bit of exercise, whilst seeing Fuerteventura and enjoying a holiday with a difference. This isn’t a ‘drop and flop’, where you sit by a pool and get sunburn.

You’re here to enjoy a holiday with a difference!

There’s 9 different workouts on the Fuerteventura fitness retreat, and you can do as many or as few as you like. It’s not a bootcamp – if you don’t fancy one of the workouts, don’t do it. The timetable includes…

  • Coached gym workouts in the on-site gym
  • A 25 mile bike ride, including a sightseeing tour and a volcano hike
  • Yoga
  • Pilates
  • Dune sprints

Each of the activities is coached, so you’ll be led by a personal trainer, yoga teacher and a Pilates instructor for the relevant activities. All bar the dune sprints and the bike ride are delivered on site. The transport to the dunes and the bike start is taken care of.

The gym…

Our on-site gym is spectacular! Take any thoughts of a small home gym out of your head – this is a scaled-down version of a commercial facility. It is fully equipped, including barbells, bumper plates, kettlebells, air bike, rower, outdoor rig, battle ropes and a prowler!

We also use the outdoors as our gym. There’s no point hosting a retreat in a place like Fuerteventura and not taking advantage of the nature around us.

We head to the Dunas de Corralejo Natural Park for dune sprint workouts. You’ll climb Calderon Hondo at the midway point of our mountain bike ride. The yoga and Pilates classes are delivered outside in the sunshine, so you can enjoy the weather as you exercise. We’re right next to the pool, so jump in afterwards!

We spend enough time indoors at home, so when we get the opportunity, we get outside!

The pool…

At the retreat, the entire house, garden and pool are private.

It can be as quiet as you like it to be. There’s space around the pool with sun loungers, hammocks, space to walk and exercise. There’s also a sheltered pergola in case you want a bit of relief from the sun.

This means you can be as sociable or not as you like. The grounds are big enough for you to wander off and enjoy a little time on your own. This means you can read a book or browse online without having to be sociable. You can recharge your social battery as you like!

The pool is the perfect way to cool down. It can get pretty warm in the Fuerteventura sunshine, so a dip in the pool helps you to cool off straight away! If you like to get some swimming done, you can enjoy a few undisturbed lengths.

The villa…

It’s not just about exercise and the pool – what else is there to do there? What are the rooms like? We’ve got you covered.

The rooms are all en suite. They’ve also got a TV in each one. They’re spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and vey comfortable. In the largest room there’s a private terrace for you to enjoy enclosed sunshine.

The villa has a games room which contains a full sized pool table and a dart board. It’s completely sound proofed when the door is closed, so people relaxing in the living room next door can listen to music, watch TV or a film without distraction.

There’s wifi throughout, so you can go online. If you want to use social media, or even do some work you can do.

The decoration is perfect. It’s neutral and relaxing, using a lot of stone, wood and natural materials.

The price…

Here’s the bit you’re interested in… the cost! Well I’ve got great news for you. The retreat is excellent value for money. Included in the fee is the following…

  • Transfers to and from the airport, and to the activity destinations
  • Every breakfast, and 4 evening meals (the other two evenings, we head out for a meal)
  • All activities
  • Accommodation
  • Coaching

The flights and meals outside of the retreat aren’t included in the price. The earlier you book your flights, the cheaper they are. Everything else is included in the price though.

Luxury Room (1 available) – £1199 per person if shared, or £1899 if taken alone

Premium Rooms (3 available) – £999 per person if shared, or £1699 if taken alone

Simple Rooms (3 available) – £900 per person if shared, £1499 if taken alone
