I’ve been needing a new pair of sunglasses so this review request came just at the right time…

Here’s my history with sunglasses…

Aged 17, I spent £80 (a massive sum of money to me back then) on a pair of Oakley sunglasses. I loved them – I wore them religiously for years and they served me well.

Those sunglasses travelled all over Europe with me, until they reached their final resting place when I opened my back pack to find one of the arms broken.

I also had a pair of Quiksilver sunglasses. They were sunglasses I wore when I was heading out and needed something less sporty. I loved them as much as my Oakleys.

Those poor things reached their end when my ex girlfriend stood on them. It was a genuine accident, but I was gutted.

Since then, I’ve bounced from cheap pair to cheap pair. In Portugal I bought a pair of fake Raybans out of desperation (I’d forgotten my sunglasses and only realised when I was out there). They lasted me a couple of years until a lens fell out whilst I was in a queue in Barcelona…

Another fake pair of Raybans were bought whilst having dinner with my family in Spain last year. Being the gentleman, I sat facing the sun so my girlfriend and kids didn’t have to. I had no sunglasses, but luckily like any Spanish resort, there’s an abundance of guys walking by with at least 4,996,033 pairs on them for sale, so I managed to grab a pair for €5!

This summer I was going to buy a pair of sunglasses, when I was offered the chance to review a pair of Sili sunglasses. I picked the colours I fancied and was impressed from the get-go when they came in a fantastic box. Given they retail at less than £60, the packaging is the quality you’d expect from sunglasses that cost more.

One of the quirky features of Sili sunglasses is just how customisable they are – you can pick from a wide range of colours for the frames, arms and lenses so can create your own unique pair, or order multiples for different outfits!

The glasses themselves are great quality. They’re made from a strong, durable plastic and have UV protective lenses.

On their website they have multiple options for sunglass colours. You can tweak the lens and arm colours to really customise your look. I went for the gloss black arms and frame with the brown lenses. I went for these because I thought they’d offer me the most versatility in terms of what they’d go with.

I tried them for the first time yesterday. We had a long, sunny day and I wore them for the duration. They were comfortable, felt like good quality and a few people mentioned they like my sunglasses, so they clearly have appeal!

I’m enjoying wearing them and hope my Sili sunglasses review has made you consider them for yourself!
