Why Is It So Difficult To Lose Belly Fat?

Staying in good shape has always been everyone’s dream, but nobody ever told you that it might actually be harder than you expected it. Sure, you know right from the start that it will take a lot of effort, but you probably didn’t expect the effort to be in vain sometimes. While exercising and watching what you eat is never in vain in terms of staying healthy, getting the results you desire can sometimes seem to be almost impossible.

You can get lean and lose a lot of weight and still be dissatisfied with the results since there is one particular part of your body that never seem to obey when it comes to fat reduction. I suppose you already know which part I am talking about, but if not, let me make it clear right away. I’m referring to belly fat. Losing it can seem like an impossible ordeal and that can all be extremely discouraging. Click this to learn more about how you might lose it.

Have you ever wondered, though, why this is so difficult? Why is losing belly fat so frustratingly hard and challenging and why does it seem that, no matter what you do, you will never be able to get rid of that fat around your stomach? Well, to be perfectly honest, you might be the one to blame for this. Sure, losing weight in that particular area is definitely the hardest thing to do, but it is certainly not impossible, as long as you are devoted to following a certain regime.

You are now probably wondering what it is that you are doing wrong in this regard and what it is that is making losing belly fat so difficult for you. If I am right, then you should keep on reading in order to find out about some of the reasons that might be behind it. That way, you might even learn how to change certain habits and finally succeed in achieving the fitness goal you desire. So, here we go.

Eating Too Much Processed Food

This should be an obvious reason, but let me emphasize it anyway, because chances are that you might not be aware of it. If you have a habit of eating too much processed food, such as white bread, chips and similar, then you certainly shouldn’t be surprised with your inability to lose belly fat. These types of foods can hinder the whole process, meaning that you should try and change the habit.

Unlike processed food, fruits, veggies and whole grains are filled with anti-oxidants which have anti-inflammatory properties. That can be of huge help, since belly fat is actually associated with inflammation. So, when eating these natural and healthy ingredients, you might actually prevent the build-up of that excess weight around your stomach. As you can see at Belly Fitness Lab, there are a lot of ingredients that could perhaps speed up this process.

Drinking A Lot Of Alcohol

I don’t know if you were aware of this or not, but alcohol definitely has a lot of calories. Or, at least, it has much more calories than you might have expected. When you decide to intake any type of alcohol, your body and your whole metabolism will immediately focus on it since you cannot actually store the calories from alcohol for later. That way, you are diverting your body from focusing on burning the excess fat.

Yet, this doesn’t mean that you should banish alcohol for good from your life. The above is correct only for those people who drink it excessively, which is harmful in itself, regardless of the fat it adds to your belly. If you are, however, an occasional enjoyer, or you like having one or two drinks a day, you shouldn’t be worried. The effects won’t be as serious and strong as in those people who are frequently taking it too far and drinking a lot of alcohol.

Engaging In Wrong Workouts

Everybody knows that working out definitely plays a crucial role in staying healthy and in great shape. Sure, you might try just cutting on carbs and engaging in certain diets, but the simple truth is that exercising provides people with the best possible results. Yet, has anyone ever told you that there is such a thing as a wrong workout session?

I know that might come as a shock to you, but it’s definitely something that you need to hear about. You might spend months in the gym, doing excessive cardio, and you might not see any results on your waist and your belly fat. This is simply because cardio alone cannot do much for your actual waist. Usually, if you want to work on losing your belly fat, you should focus on strength trainings.

Here are some more reasons why you might not be able to lose weight in this area:

Stressing Too Much

It’s a well-known fact that stress can have a significant impact on our whole weight and especially our belly fat. You might think that this is simply because you tend to eat high-calorie foods when stressed and while that is certainly one of the reasons, it’s definitely not the only one. Basically, when you are stressed, your body produces more cortisol, which then increases the amount of fat that your body actually clings to and thus enlarges your fat cells. Cortisol has always been linked to visceral fat. I know this might be easier to say than to do, but you should really try and keep your stress levels low.

There is one particular reason that you might not be able to do anything about. I’m talking about getting older, which leads to your body experiencing a decline in its metabolic rate, as well as certain shifts in the balance of your hormones. All of that leads to storing more belly fat. While you cannot stop the ageing process, you can definitely put up a fight against visceral and other fat through exercise and healthy dieting, even as you get older.
