Ronda Rousey

Considered the first ever female MMA fighter to gain widespread popularity in different parts of the world, Ronda Rousey was the one who brought focus onto the female UFC competition. She brought female UFC into the mainstream despite facing many ups and downs in her own career. On the whole, she has had a fairly impressive MMA as well as professional acting journey.

Her first MMA success came in year 2010 when she went on to bag the Bantamweight UFC Championship, continuing her excellent run until the UFC 207 when she lost her crown to Amanda Nunes in a tough fight that left her uncertain about her MMA future. It was in 2014 that Ronda Rousey became a part of The Expendables 3 project, featuring superstars of all generations. The role became a springboard for her acting career and she played notable roles in many more well-known projects including Mile 22 and Furious 7.

Rousey did return to UFC, but got knocked out in her comeback fight through a brutal head kick. Regardless, she deserves plenty of credit for what she has accomplished in the UFC overall, and how she played a key role in bringing the spotlight onto women’s MMA.
