CocoPro High Protein Coconut Water
CocoPro High Protein Coconut Water – a Review
I’ve discussed elsewhere on the site the increase in ‘high protein’ products. Bread, water, beer…
Now we’re on to coconut water.
The thing is with the CocoPro high protein coconut water is it’s actually tasty. I was really surprised. I was given the pineapple flavour to try and found it to taste really good and actually pretty natural.
I’ve tried a bunch of the high protein products and the general feeling is that they taste, well, crap really. In the protein water I’ve sampled it tastes so artificial that I just didn’t like it.
Not in this case though.
Coconuts are the vogue ingredient of the moment – we’ve been told how good coconut is for us – we can eat it, wash and moisturise with it and now we are being encouraged to drink it!
The drink itself is really tasty. It has a slightly milky texture thanks to they milk and whey, but it holds the fruit flavour well. It’s certainly not artificial tasting, despite being sweetened.
It’s pretty high in calories, which is something to be aware of (138 calories per 330ml bottle), but if you are tracking your intake it’s certainly no problem, just something to be aware of. If you drink the CocoPro high protein coconut water as a post-training recovery drink, you’ll benefit from the calories and have to worry about weight gain less!
The CocoPro retails at around £2.79 per 330ml bottle and more information on the drink and its stockists can be found on their website at http://drinkcocopro.com.
