I’m hosting the Fit for Life retreat at AzulFit in Fuerteventura between 22-29th of October this year (2016). It’s a bespoke package that has been put together with the guest experience at the front and centre.

When doing my research and looking at the type of retreat we could put together, I spent a long time looking at other fitness holidays.

There were pure yoga retreats – 4 days in basic accommodation for £1200. I enquired about a cycling excursion – that was a 5 day ride and would cost me £750 and I’d have to supply all of my own kit. I could do a fasting retreat in Cambridgeshire for £1999 – no food, just water and vitamins. No exercise, just a room. Nearly 2 grand!

For a week in October, rather than do battle with the traffic, the rain and the wind, wake up and take part in an exercise class in a private studio or on a warm, golden beach.

Let someone else cook your breakfast, then eat it at your leisure on a warm, sunny morning.

Head off to the beach for the day, do a little surfing and sunbathing. Read a good book, forget about the winter back at home. Head back to the villa for an evening Yoga or Pilates class, before being served an amazing feast full of fresh, vibrant and healthy food.
