Creating the Fat Burning Environment

Creating the Fat Burning Environment

Follow these simple tips to create a fat burning environment – cut your weight in half the time!

  1. SLEEP! The ideal amount of sleep is seven to eight hours per night. You can let loose a night or two each week, but when you do, try to make up for it ASAP. Train no more than four times a week. As for your job, do whatever you can to avoid excess stress – chronic nervousness elevates cortisol, a hormone that makes your body store fat and burn muscle. Recovery is the best part of training! Just take on board your fuel and relax to your heart’s content! If your partner accuses you of being lazy, inform them it is an integral part of your weight loss regimen! Guilt-free relaxation!
  2. REHYDRATE! The process of burning calories requires an adequate supply of water in order to function efficiently; dehydration slows down the fat-burning process. Burning calories creates toxins (think of the exhaust coming out of your car), and water plays a vital role in flushing them out of your body. Drinking water with a meal also may make you feel full sooner and therefore satisfied eating less.
  3. ALKALISE! The pH of the body controls and affects all the functions of the body.  Research is starting to show that many common diseases may be caused by having a body that is too acidic. When the body is in a constant state of acidity it creates an environment more prone to disease and fat storage.  Unfortunately, our fast-paced western lifestyle and ‘unconscious’ way of eating can create an excessive acid load within our bodies. By basing our diet around dark green, leafy vegetables you will alkalise your body quickly and enjoy the results!
  4. MOVE! Exercise often and exercise wisely. Make your day as active as possible. I don’t want to patronise, but use the stairs more, carry things rather than use carts or trolleys, leave the car at home! Take up a membership at a gym and USE IT! Regular movement increases your energy expenditure and allows you to enjoy a healthier life!
  5. EAT PROTEIN! Good quality protein takes longer to break down in the body, keeping you full for a long time. In addition to the satiation levels of a good protein source, there are lots of vitamins, minerals and good quality natural fats that improve health. Aim for free range eggs, grass fed meats, line caught fish and where possible, organic sources of foods.

So there you have it – a quick 5 step guide to creating a fat burning environment to keep you burning fat for a long time!
